Ashland Ramble - Ashland Virginia Road Bike Rides

The Ashland Ramble takes cyclists through the gently rolling farmlands of Hanover County. Riders must fuel up at the start in Ashland, as the ride is very rural and has no stores or restaurants along the route. Popular among Richmond cyclists, this ramble offers a pleasant mix of flat and rolling terrain, with several hills that will challenge the beginning cyclist. About halfway through the ride, the cyclist will pass Scotchtown, home of Patrick Henry and one of Virginia’s oldest plantation houses. The ramble ends back in Ashland, a charming country town with a railroad that runs right down the middle of its main street. Terrain: Gently rolling. Some long, flat stretches and several hills that will challenge beginners. One of the most challenging rambles in the book.
