Rising to an elevation of 3,849 feet, Mount Diablo is a dominating presence in the East Bay as it towers over the surrounding hills and flatlands. Trails and fire roads within Mt. Diablo State Park provide hikers, equestrians, and mountain bikers innumerable routes form which to choose. While the fire roads are wide and generally quite smooth, the extreme steepness of both the uphill and downhill grades make this ride very challenging. It is usually quite dry in the summer months, so be sure to bring along adequate water.
