Flat Rock Ranch - Comfort Texas Mountain Bike Trails

This is one of the finest rides anywhere. There are long, serious climbs and screaming, blistering downhills, all connected by some expertly designed and maintained single-track. The folks who own this ranch are super-nice, and the club who maintains it (STORM) is one of the finest in the state. I ran into a couple of the members when I was here and they really helped me out by giving me expert advice and directions for my attack the next day. Thanks, you guys, y’all are swell. This place is an active ranch with livestock scattered about. When you come to a gate you need to open for passage, remember to close it behind you so the cows don’t come home. Use this property with respect—treat it like it belonged to your best uncle or something. Be careful flying down the trail and into the trees; one of those big old 800-pound steers wouldn’t be fun to run into. You might knock him over (crushing you and your bike in the process), but then he’ll probably jump up and stomp a hole through you as he tries to run away.
