Big Laguna Trail

OutAndBack • 10.4 mi • 600 ft

One of the most scenic rides in all of San Diego County, this is a fairly short but very worthwhile ride. The trail winds around Laguna Meadow, which explodes in color every spring during wildflower season. Even in other seasons, the views are exquisite: the meadow, the surrounding Laguna Mountains, the stands of sturdy oak trees, and the streams all vie for your attention. As does the trail. You can ride it as part of a very fun out-and-back ride, or as a shorter loop. Either way, you won’t forget its compelling twists, turns, ups, and downs for a long time.

Brought my 6 year old with hi mountain bike. great for kids. Just enough difficulty to make him work through it. He begged to go back the following weekend and we did. During the summer get out early (7:30ish). Gets toasty by 11am.

The trail was not very exciting. Lots of mellow hils. Some large rocks. Not for the extreme rider.
