Pike Lake Loop - Grand Marais Minnesota Mountain Bike Trails

This loop offers some great riding, with great views to match. Right off the bat you can check out splendid fall colors on two high ridgelines adjacent to Deer Yard Lake. Soon after that, the trail morphs into a skinny trail hugging the edge of Pike Lake, with fun boulders to ride over or around. The North Shore State Trail passes through the middle of this loop and allows for an optional shortcut or more miles of trail riding. (I recommend this choice. The state trail sneaks between some higher ridges and has nice views of Pike Lake.) Of course, if you’re into big miles, these roads connect to a half-dozen others to form multiple loop options to potentially keep you riding all week. Tread: Smooth gravel road to rustic logging road/trail.
