French Creek, the eastern Pennsylvania mecca for mountain bikers, is quite a rad park. One of only thirteen state parks that actually allows mountain bikes, French Creek has prided itself on offering a vast array of trails for off-road two-wheeled thrill seekers. Located adjacent to the federal lands of Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site, this 7,339-acre park is laced with prime mountain bike bliss. Highlights: technical singletrack, Hopewell Fire Tower, swimming pool, boating, fishing, disc golf, orienteering courses, camping, cabins, Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site. Tread: washed-out trail with loose rocks, gravel, and dirt. A few sections run on old woods roads that are just as sketchy.
