Russel C. Chase Bridge-Falls Path

OutAndBack • 2.4 mi • 0 ft

This ride's general location is Wolfeboro. Scenery includes a village edge and lakeshore. This is a great family ride; do not miss the Wright Museum. This might look like an ordinary rail trail, but it's got a secret surprise that will amaze your kids! Want to turn their day into an educational experience before they realize it? Park at the Wolfeborough depot, get the bikes and hit the trail. Watch for the bridge at Wolfeboro Falls, about a half mile up, and as you're crossing it, point off to your right and exclaim, "Look everyone! There's a tank crashing through that building over there!!!" After you have them jumping up and down for a closer look, cross Route 28, and step up to the Wright Museum of American Enterprise. It has great exhibits relating to the life on the "home front" during World War II, and a hall full of military vehicles of the same era. They'll learn what Boy Scouts collected tires for, why the Army bought cameras from amateur photographers, and what a Norden bombsight looks like.
