Holdridge Lakes Loops

A lot of love has gone into this well-maintained trail system. Offering three loops, the trails are quintessential southern Michigan. The singletrack rolls through dense forest, with the most difficult trail butting up next to the highway, a reminder that civilization is nearby. The North Loop winds through tall grasses and is perfect for beginners. The West Loop’s popularity with intermediate riders is obvious from its buffed singletrack. The East Loop (Gruber’s Grinder) offers plenty of challenges for advanced riders, including 4-foot log climbs, tight turns, and short switchbacks. Luckily, if you get in over your head, there are plenty of places to bail out. Tread: 24.3 miles of singletrack.

I'm new to MTB. For me, the North Loop was great fun! Several washed out steep uphills on the West Trail made for a trying rather than fun ride.


An enjoyable trail, favorite is west loop, with challenges but not too long. You can fit the west loop into a hectic schedule, half hour to 3/4 hour, depending on your skill. Make sure to climb the Wall.
