Point Reyes National Seashore: Lighthouse and Chimney Rock Trails - Point Reyes Station California Hikes

These are two short, exhilarating hikes. The lighthouse walk features marine wildlife and plant life that can survive harsh weather conditions. The lighthouse is the best place in Marin to watch gray whales migrating from Alaska to Baja California. On a clear day, you can see out to the Farallon Islands. Chimney Rock boasts one of the best wildflower displays on the coast and is the site of shipwrecks dating to 1585. Along the Chimney Rock Trail, towering 500-foot cliffs provide spectacular coastline scenery. A short drive is required to get to the Chimney Rock trailhead from the lighthouse. This eTrail also includes suggested nearby attractions, camping & lodging, restaurants, and local outdoor retailers.
