Point Reyes National Seashore: Sky Trail - Olema California Hikes

Long and strenuous, this is one of the premier hikes in the Point Reyes area, offering a grand tour of Inverness Ridge and Bear Valley, with the Pacific shoreline thrown in for good measure. Using the Bear Valley, Mt. Wittenberg, Sky, and Coast trails, this route gains elevation steeply at first, and then drifts slowly downhill as it approaches the Pacific. Your return is over mostly level ground. The route has something for everyone, including a wonderful array of plant and bird life, and fine views. Be sure to check with rangers at the visitor center for the latest trail conditions and closures.
