Point Reyes National Seashore Outer Coast Camping Tour—Drakes Bay to Coast Camp & Beyond - San Rafael California Sea Kayak Tours

One of the premier open-coast camping trips in the state, the lower half of the Point Reyes National Seashore is a southerly version of Mendocino’s Lost Coast: a 20-mile stretch of roadless, uninhabited coastal wilderness, with rugged cliffs and remote beaches, providing an ample challenge for the most experienced paddlers. It is possible to do just the upper section as an overnighter, 8 miles each way to Coast Camp and back, and skip the messy shuttle logistics. Or go for the full effect and paddle the entire 24 miles down to Stinson Beach in three days. Either way you’ll pass some of the wildest coastal real estate in the country, as its “National Seashore” designation would suggest.
