Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary Trail

A good mix of open fields and wooded areas, along with a small, beautiful pond. The trails on this small, privately owned preserve near the Kentucky River are geared to families. The distances are short, the terrain level, and the interpretive materials easy to understand. So for families with little ones, this is a perfect place for an afternoon hike. But even if you don’t have children—or maybe you just want to get away from some—these 374 acres can provide a couple of hours of pleasant walking. You will find a good mix of woods and open fields, and a lovely little pond near the end of this 2-mile loop.
