Stag Bay & Greentop Harbor - Pelican Alaska Sea Kayak Tours

Stag Bay and Greentop Harbor are about 7 miles apart. Both are reached by paddling northwest in Lisianski Inlet, then southwest in Lisianski Strait. This scenic area is magic in the morning on still days when steep forested slopes are perfectly reflected on the glassy smooth waters of the strait. Stag Bay off of Lisianski Strait is a quiet and peaceful body of water. There is nice camping on both sides of the entrance and possibilities farther up the bay. It is quite likely you will see brown bears in this area as you paddle along. Greentop Harbor on the north side of Lisianski Strait is a fascinating and intriguing place. Rounding Point Theodore into Greentop Harbor is like entering a different world. There is a strange stillness in the air, and the waters are crystal clear. As you paddle along it is absorbing to look into the extensive kelp beds. The channels and islands in Greentop Harbor will keep you exploring for hours. A Forest Service cabin here is an original settlers cabin and definitely worth a visit. If the cabin is unoccupied, you are welcome to enter and look around. If someone is staying there, ask if they mind your taking a look at the historic structure.
