Whiting Ranch / The Luge - El Toro California Mountain Bike Trails

This ride is located in Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park and the Cleveland National Forest just north of Foothill Ranch. There are a lot of trees on this 14.7-mile loop, and there's a lot of other diverse terrain as well. After spinning out of the parking area, you're immediately surrounded by sycamores and ferns adorning a creek. Go a little further and climb a steep hill flanked by chest-high mustard in the spring. Bike down to a paved road and venture through rocky scrubland. Nest it's up to clean-shaven Santiago Trail , victim of a massive brush fire in the fall of 1997. a little past the burn area, you'll descend past the picturesque Vulture Crags, where condors once gathered, and down the so-called Luge, a rutted singletrack tat flies through a tunnel of vegetation. After some pavement, it's up past a stable and down a stark ridge into the oak woodlands you've been craving.
