Leave your hatchet at home
My first experience with this little saw was during a campout with friends. Between two grown men we were able to cut enough firewood for the weekend in less than 30 minutes. It's lightweight, durable, and well-made. For backpacking, I would recommend the smaller one - you will still be able to cut logs up to about 6 inches. The bonus is that this saw has many other home uses. The guy at the checkout told me he had one for about 20 years and that he uses it often. Well worth it.

A tank of a saw
Just limbed a tree in my back yard with this saw yesterday and it performed admirably. Cuts smoothly, and I really like being able to stow it away safely for transport. Allowed me to climb the tree without worrying about the sharp blade. I've packed it on numerous hiking and backpacking trips and it never fails me.

Awesome Backpacking Saw
Easy to use. Works great, lightweight. Makes terrific back country fires and camping out is always much better with a fire!!!
