Very functional
Attached it to my kayak with the clamp mount and it worked great. I was able to make the necesary adjustments while paddling. I trolled in the lake and was able to catch a nice rainbow trout within minutes of installing it for the first time.

I use this to free/rest my hands while I'm fishing from my kayak. Works fine, but with one of my rods, the fit is a little tight. I unfortunately haven't hooked into the "big" one yet so I don't know how difficult it's going to be to get out when that happens.
