Keeps black dog in desert nice and cool.
I have a black shaggy dog. Needless to say, he gets hot in the summer. So hot that he can't really do anything during the day. The swamp cooler vest has made hiking so much nicer. He is able to keep going and no more lying on the ground panting.

Great vest for low humidity & high heat
This vest is great! I have a border collie and about 90 degrees he becomes greatly impacted by the heat. In the middle of a Phoenix summer sometimes are lows at night are only 95 degrees. This jacket keeps his back cool to the touch and allows him to increase his activity for longer periods of time and recover (stop panting) in about a third of the time.Best tip is to get a old gatorade bottle fill it with tap water and put it in the fridge and when

Well worth the price!!
I decided to really put this vest to the test. I used it at the dog park on a 105 degree day in Salt Lake City Utah where it is quite arid. The dogs made it 45 minutes running around the dog park and I had to rewet the vests once. There were panting but not heavily. They can make it an hour and a half to two hours on an 80-90 degree day without the vests so I think that 45 minutes on a 105 degree day is a success. The vests fit perfect. My Cocker Spaniel who is a bit small for her breed, could have been a size XS or small as the two sizes have some overlap. The small was longer than her back which was nice but a bit bulky in the chest. The XS fit perfectly in the chest but was a little shorter on the back that I would have preferred. Seems to Work
I bought this for my older dog for our 1 hour hikes. When it gets above 80 degrees he acts like he is going to die. I bought this vest to help the situation. It fits well and seems to be doing the job. You should wet the vest well and also wet the dogs fur. The vest along with being wet, will help the fur retain its wetness. I have only used it for 1 hour walks. I think after 1 hour you may need to figure out how you can re-wet the vest.

Love these vests! I have bought three of them, in all sizes, for my pack in Phoenix. This is a great product: keeps dog cool in hot weather. I wash it everyday in the summer, and the material is high-quality and long-lasting! Highly recommended!
