Works great, doesn't slow the dog down
Got the size small for my 35 lb female mutt. The pack works great for her. She's worn it on multiple 3-8 mile dayhikes, and this summer she carried all her own supplies (food, bowl, .75L of water, wire lead to secure her in camp, rawhide to chew on, and camp towel) on two different 3-day backpacking trips. The weight (max around 6 lbs) never seems to bother her, and it barely slows her down or limits her already very high mobility. I thought we'd want a larger capacity pack, but it turns out we don't because she shouldn't carry more than 6 lbs and this pack holds all the gear that she needs at that weight. It's very durable and has held up well through lots of brushy and muddy trails. We also like the carry handle on the back, we use it to help her get over big logs and other obstacles.Be sure you get the fit nice and snug so it doesn't flop around, and load it evenly.Only complaints are that the fabric is not waterproof (we knew that going in and store everything in ziplocs, but still sometimes things get wet when she cr

Why carry your own gear?
Perfect for my hyperactive dog to work and burn off extra energy. I put water, rain gear or extra clothes, first aid kit, in it. If the packs were any bigger, I'd fear overloading the dog. Purposedly did not buy the waterproof one because of cost, but I wished the lower part of the bags had a waterproof lining because when she stands in water, the bottom half (and my stuff) gets wet.

Nice Dog Pack
This pack works well for my dog. She doesn't seem to mind wearing it, especially since she is out on the trail. Our dog weighs about 30 pounds. She is a small Border Collie, and the extra small size fits her well. She is near the upper limit for this size pack. When loaded, it stays pretty balanced side to side as long as you are careful to balance out the load. The only thing I would change would be the handle. It's only big enough for a couple fingers. It would be nice to get a full hand grip on it.

Practical and useful
I use this pack with my dog when we do long day hikes. She took to wearing the pack with no problem. She carries a 600ml water bottle on each side, along with a collapsable water bowl, snacks and pooh bags.

Amazing pack!!
This pack is an amazing dog pack. My husband and I bought one for each of our dogs. We have a husky and a wolf hybrid that both love to hike. Initially we thought they may not like the packs, but they are so comfortable and our dogs love them. In fact whenever we touch the packs both dogs come running.These packs are perfect if you are going for a walk with some weight or are off for a weekend of hiking and camping.
