Vasque Hiking Boots Review

Vasque Hiking Boots Review
The Vasque Breeze Low VST GTX Hiking Boot is a lightweight hiking shoe designed for trekking without the weight of a higher top boot. It weighs 1 lb. 13 oz. with a Vibran Contact Lite sole--traction is superior for a hiking shoe of this weight. The GTX in the product name means that this version of the boot comes with a Gore-Tex exterior. The added waterproof and breathable treatment along with Vasque's Arc Temp last provides a comfortable fit and nimble feel over varied terrain. The boot is constructed with a women's-specific last and is available in multiple widths to accommodate a wide variety of foot shapes and sizes.

Perks

Whether you're hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania or out for a day hike in Red Rocks, Nevada, the Vasque Breeze Low is a comfortable hiking shoe with all of the functionality of a boot. The Vibram sole is very sticky and lets you hike on dirt or scramble on rocks securely.

Sacrifices

If you need the protection of a mid-to-high shaft hiking boot, the Breeze Low will not provide your ankle with enough protection. These shoes also require a fair amount of time to break-in, so purchase them well in advance of big trips.

Bottom Line

The Vasque Breeze Low is a sound purchase if you prefer a low profile hiking boot or shoe. The Gore-Tex keeps you cool and dry and the Vibram sole lets you scale as well as you can walk.
