MSR Denali Ascent Snowshoes Review

MSR Denali Ascent Snowshoes Review
The MSR Denali Evo Ascent snowshoes come in a standard 22-inch length and have available flotation tails to accommodate heavier pack weights and varied snow conditions. The deck is made of a highly durable plastic composite with an adjustable rubber strap system. The integrated Televator heel lift is easily engaged for steep ascents, saving calves from undue strain. The snowshoes also include an integrated crampon for a higher level of traction. Weighing only 4 lbs. per pair, the MSR Denali Evo Ascent will get you where you are going without weighing you down.

Perks

The light weight of the snowshoes as well as the strap binding system make use and compatibility with most boots easy. The heel lift is easy to engage with a trekking or ski pole on the fly, and the tapered design makes walking more natural.

Sacrifices

The straps can be prone to breaking, especially with excessive cranking to tighten to the boots. Buy an extra strap and keep it on hand for your snowshoeing trips. Decks can gouge, but gouges will not detract from performance.

Bottom Line

The MSR Denali Evo Ascent snowshoes are lightweight, compatible with a wide range of boots and great for any snowshoeing or mountaineering trip from day hikes to Denali. Durability is maximum and the integrated heel lift makes ascents a breeze.
