Smith Ski Goggles Review

Smith Ski Goggles Review
Smith Optics makes 20 different models of ski goggles, offering several in multiple designs so that those who wear prescription eyewear can put the goggles on over their glasses. Each goggle has multiple frame styles and multiple lens colors. Most of the goggles have an airflow vent at the top to help reduce fog buildup. The Split V Nose feature self-adjusts to fit any nose. The double woven strap is attached with an adjustable outrigger to easily fit the goggle over a helmet and maintain a uniform pressure on the goggle.

Perks

Smith goggles are very comfortable to wear. The hypo-allergenic foam around the exterior of the goggles fits easily to the face and stays flexible in very cold conditions. Smith treats its lenses with an antifog coating. Smith also offers interchangeable lenses so a skier can select from darker or lighter lenses, depending on the conditions they are skiing in.

Sacrifices

Even with the venting and the antifog treatment, Smith goggles can fog up if placed on the forehead, and they will fog if you are in the backcountry and hiking uphill, because you are generating more heat than can vent from the goggles.

Bottom Line

Smith goggles are an excellent choice for almost any downhill ski application. Properly cared for, Smith goggles can last for many seasons of hard skiing and snowboarding.
