Garmin Nuvi370 Altimeter Reviews

Garmin Nuvi370 Altimeter Reviews
Garmin developed a new line of GPS units made for your car and on foot. The Nuvi 370 comes preloaded with detailed maps of North America and Europe. At 3.87 inches wide by 2.91 inches in height and 5.1 oz., and a rechargeable lithium battery lasting up to eight hours, the Nuvi 370 makes it easy to navigate anywhere. Garmin also integrated voice-prompt directions that navigate by street names and points of interest. And at $480 as of September 2009, the Garmin Nuvi is an affordable option for navigation needs.

Perks

Garmin integrated a travel kit in its Nuvi series, including a language guide, travel guide, MP3 player, audio book player, currency converter, measurement converter and calculator, making travel more convenient. The Nuvi 370 also comes equipped with a traffic receiver, giving up-to-date traffic reports and road conditions. Unlike many other GPS units, the Garmin Nuvi 370 integrates with Bluetooth technology, allowing you to make hands-free phone calls.

Sacrifices

Because of Garmin's detailed preloaded maps, they become outdated often. Downloading new maps costs $50 to $150. Also, because of the Garmin Nuvi 370's retractable antenna, when left up, the battery doesn't last as long as many of the competitor's GPS units.

Bottom Line

The Garmin Nuvi is one of the most innovative GPS units on the market. Because of the price and cost of additional maps, this unit is recommended for avid travelers who are willing to spend the extra bucks on quality and functions.
