Stren Original does a nice job of blending good casting ability with low memory, while remaining strong due to its high tensile strength. The line is abrasion-resistant, which is important when fishing around weeds or logs.
Sacrifices
While Stren Original works well right out of the box, its performance will begin to fade if you fish hard for 3 or 4 days straight. Check the line for wear spots after fishing the line for a couple days and strip off 100 yards and re-spool with fresh line.
Bottom Line
Stren Original handles well on baitcasting, trolling and spinning reels and works just as well for ultralight trout applications as it does for hard-fighting salmon, making this a dependable and versatile fishing line.
