Review of Coppertone Gel Sunscreen

Review of Coppertone Gel Sunscreen

Eric C.

Coppertone Gel Sunscreen is made to protect your skin from harmful UV rays and sun damage. Coppertone Gel prevents sunburns, and if used properly, will protect skin from the potential of melanoma and skin disease. According to Coppertone, the gel is usable in water and for action sports without losing its protective qualities, if applied properly. Coppertone Gel is available at most retailers, drug stores or sporting goods stores for less than $10 a bottle.

Perks

The gel is easy to apply and stays on when used properly. For effective use, apply one to three ounces of the gel over exposed skin. Coppertone gel has no known carcinogens, making it safe for skin contact. The gel, when applied at first, feels cool and non-greasy. Upon staying out in the hot Malibu, California sun for a full day when using this, no burns developed.

Sacrifices

Upon applying, the gel does feel a bit tacky and sand or other particles stick to the skin until the gel has time to dry. Proper use requires one to three ounces per application and it is recommended you reapply every three hours. One ounce is a golf ball size amount of gel, and three ounces is the size of a tennis ball. One bottle will last for three or four full applications.

Bottom Line

Coppertone Gel Sunscreen is a worthwhile product that delivers what it promises, if you apply in the amounts recommended. It protects the skin from harmful burns.
