Black Diamond Syncro Trekking Poles Review

Black Diamond Syncro Trekking Poles Review

TylerFNall

The Black Diamond Syncro trekking poles are lightweight, yet durable enough for the most arduous hikes. Their oval-shaped elliptic aluminum shaft increases rigidity and allows nonrotating ergonomic comfort. The Syncro's FlipLock system allows for effortless adjustments without having to worry about the lock slipping. Also, the Syncro trekking poles extend to 55 inches, which is long enough for even the tallest hikers, and collapse down to 25 inches for easy storage. And at 21 oz., they won't weigh you down over a long hike. As of 2010, the Syncro trekking poles are going for about $100 a pair.

Perks

Known for their advanced innovations, Black Diamond developed an auto-lock binary system that allows extension of the lower section by simply sliding the bottom section into place with no locking mechanisms to deal with. The Syncro also comes equipped with angled grips designed to reduce wrist fatigue.

Sacrifices

Due to their durable and user-friendly design, the Black Diamond Syncro trekking poles are a little heavier than some of their competitors such as, the REI Peak UL and Leki Corklite poles. Also, the Syncro's do not have shock absorbers to lighten the pressure on your arms throughout the day.

Bottom Line

The Black Diamond Syncro trekking poles combine durability and innovative technology for a quality trekking pole at a reasonable price. They are recommended for hiker or backpacker.
