Trakmate TM350H GPS Review

Trakmate TM350H GPS Review
The Trakmate TM350H offers a 3 1/2-inch touch screen, powered by Horizon NavMate software, which is also featured in GPS devices for many major car manufacturers. The device uses an SiRF Star II chipset and a Samsung CPU, and also works as a media player accepting most major audio and video formats, including MP3, WMV, MPG and MOV, which allows the GPS to not only play music and movies but offer you audio and video tours as well.

Perks

The unit is small and easily installed and comes pre-installed with local maps, enabling you to use it right out of the box. The GPS will also alert you to upcoming fixed speed areas, which is a great benefit on long road trips through changing speed zones. The video and audio players are a nice addition.

Sacrifices

This unit's only real problem is the lack of internal memory. The operating system is pre-installed, but every map upgrade must be copied onto an SD card instead of being installed directly into the unit.

Bottom Line

Small, easily utilized and with excellent technical specifications, this Trakmate GPS system is a very good value, incorporating a good price with the features you need.
