A Burris 8X32 Landmark Binocular Review

A Burris 8X32 Landmark Binocular Review
Made by Burris Optics, the Landmark series offers a magnification and objective diameter of 8x32mm. Weighing in at 19 ounces, these binoculars offer a field of vision of 380 feet at 1000 yards and a close focus of six feet. Length is set at 5.5mm, eye relief at .7 inches and the exit pupil size is 4mm. The Landmark is coated with a tough, green rubber, is water resistant, fog proof and offers a roof prism design with fully coated lenses designed to give the user as much light as possible. A neck strap and soft case are included.

Perks

The Landmark 8x32 is Burris's value option for roof prism type binoculars. As a result, customers can expect a very low price tag. Designed with birding or a safari in mind, the Landmark 8x32 is very small and light, making it hassle-free to carry around the neck or in a pack.

Sacrifices

The Landmark 8x32 sacrifices vision clarity for a very light and compact design. Like most low-end roof prism binoculars, the Landmark 8x32 lenses don't offer the same power of components that similarly priced porro prism binoculars offer. Lastly, though the outer coating of this series is durable, the smooth surface means slipping is a concern in wet weather.

Bottom Line

For backcountry applications, the Landmark 8x32 is lacking what many of its more expensive counterparts offer. For those seeking a decent budget option, however, this series is worth considering.
