Perks
Thanks to the roomy vestibule, this tent houses two people very comfortably. Its packed weight, while not light, is reasonable for backpack camping. Unlike many of its peers, this tent's rating as a three-season tent is accurate. It will hold up to use with very heavy rain and may even be used as a winter tent in more temperate regions.
Sacrifices
The tent's weight is definitely heavier than other two-man dome tents, partly due to the large fly and vestibule. The overall fly coverage means the tent's ventilation is limited in heavy weather and makes condensation a concern.
Bottom Line
For the value and the size, this tent is an excellent resource for casual and more serious campers. The L.L. Bean name is well-served with a tent that can easily hold two people and lots of gear under less than optimal weather conditions.
