Cabelas Two Room Cabin Tent Review

Cabelas Two Room Cabin Tent Review
Cabelas two-room cabin tent is available in two different models, one sleeps eight people and one 10. These models weigh almost 40 and 50 lbs., respectively. The tents are 10 feet wide, and 14 or 16 feet long, depending on the model. The interior heights are 84 inches and 87 inches, respectively. The frame is made of 3/4-inch steel poles, giving increased stability. The tent does not have a rain fly, but the roof and sides are made of rainproof material. Both entrances offer awnings above the doors. The tent packs into a duffel for easy carrying. Prices range from $259.99 to $289.99.

Perks

The tent is very large and ventilates well. The permanent waterproofing means that you never have to scramble with a rain fly. The waterproof floor and tent combine for a very reliable tent in heavy weather, making this an excellent tent for off-season camping or for using in rainier environments. The No-See-Um mesh offers both bug protection and a degree of privacy.

Sacrifices

The tent's awnings tend to collect water, both rain and dew, which can strain the seams of the tent. For a comparable size tent, the Cabela cabin tents are substantially heavier than average.

Bottom Line

Well waterproofed, roomy, and reliable, this large cabin tent, unlike many of its counterparts, can really stand up to unpleasant weather when necessary. It is an ideal tent for large groups of people who use campgrounds or RV camps even when the weather isn't perfect.
