Perks
The tent's support poles are steel instead of fiberglass, making them far more sturdy. The interior of the tent is roomy, with more than 6 feet of head clearance. It includes a small central flap at ground level by one door, for running an extension cable for electronic appliances. The tent weight is less than that of comparable cabin tents, and the removable vestibule floor is a helpful for cleaning before packing up the tent.
Sacrifices
The rain fly covers only the roof, leaving the sides vulnerable. While the mesh windows at the sides do have zipped covers, their coverage is not adequate against anything more than light rain. The weight makes the Telluride Cabin Tent inappropriate for backpacking.
Bottom Line
While this tent is useable for campsite and RV camping, there are better, more secure cabin tents with similar price tags. The lack of complete waterproofing also makes its use limited outside of summer.
