A Coleman WeatherMaster Tent Review

A Coleman WeatherMaster Tent Review
Coleman WeatherMaster tents are large, multi-room, cabin-style tents and come in four-, six-, eight- and 10-person models. The center height of a Coleman WeatherMaster is 76 to 80 inches, and the floor footprint ranges from 14-by-9 feet in the four-person tent to 17-by-9 feet in the 10-person tent. WeatherMaster tents have a steel and fiberglass corded pole frame and two doors. The tent material is a polyester 68D mesh, the floor is polyethylene 1000D and the rain fly is a polyester taffeta 75D. The four- and six-person models include a screened room, and the six- and 10-person models have a front hinged door.

Perks

The ceiling height of the Coleman WeatherMaster tent is tall enough for a 6-6 man to stand up in comfortably, and the cabin-style design maintains a near-constant ceiling height from one end of the tent to the other. The spacious interior of a Coleman WeatherMaster is designed to accommodate families, and the multi-room models ensure some privacy for tent occupants.

Sacrifices

Coleman WeatherMaster tents have an abbreviated rain fly and a parallel, non-intersecting pole structure. These attributes indicate a tent that is geared for low winds and mild weather. The Coleman WeatherMaster will have trouble withstanding areas subject to high winds and violent rainstorms.

Bottom Line

WeatherMaster tents by The Coleman Company are spacious and easy to set up. They are good tents for family camping. The water-resistant materials keep occupants dry in light wet weather. Coleman WeatherMaster tents are not designed to withstand extreme conditions.
