Review of Adidas Women's AdiStar Trail Running Shoes

Review of Adidas Women's AdiStar Trail Running Shoes
The Adidas AdiStar trail runners cost $90, as of 2009. They feature a seamless upper to prevent rubbing along stitches. The midsole is composed of three different layers, with a variety of technical innovations. This includes a layer of Adiprene, which is a high-impact synthetic designed to cushion blows. Another layer is a specialized memory foam designed to gradually shape the footbed to the runner's foot. The sole is grooved for excellent grip and quick turns, making it suitable for scrabbling over varied terrain. The shoe weighs approximately 12 ounces, or three-quarters of a pound.

Perks

The Adidas AdiStar trail runners are well-suited to running in a variety of environments. The shoe is chock-full of high-tech materials and thoughtful design choices. For example, the AdiStar has two different slots for the laces along the top of the shoe, allowing for a user to choose a tighter, more ankle-hugging fit. Another feature is the heel fabric, which is textured to prevent slipping.

Sacrifices

The AdiStar is a great all-around runner, which is also its weakness. The shoe is a bit too heavy to satisfy those desiring a lightweight shoe for street running. And while it's great for trail running, it's not as good at shedding wet conditions or scrambling over slippery terrain.

Bottom Line

Adidas' AdiStar trail runners are some of the best all-around running shoes available. The fit is great and the shoe is designed perfectly to keep your feet comfortable.
