Columbia Winter Boots Reviews

Columbia Winter Boots Reviews
Columbia Winter Boots, produced by the Portland, Oregon-based Columbia Sportswear Company, are premier cold weather footwear, designed with advanced technical materials including Columbia's Omni-Shield water repellent, Omni-Tech waterproof-breathable membrane, Omni-Grip traction rubber compound and Techlite lightweight molded material. Columbia boots also include industry-best Thinsulate insulation and rustproof metal alloy hardware and come in full-lace, zippered or pull-on models. The price range for Columbia Winter Boots (2009) is $85 to $130 in women's sizes and $80 to $250 in men's sizes.

Perks

Columbia Winter Boots are warm and sturdy. These boots protect feet in harsh cold conditions, and the semi-rigid body is perfect for amateur mountaineering, serious snowshoeing and extended snowmobile rides. Columbia designs its Winter Boots with snow sports in mind.

Sacrifices

Columbia does not offer any Winter Boots that have power straps, a benefit for aggressive backcountry wear as they wrap around the top of the boot, securing the ankle and keeping it seated against the heel of the boot. This helps to prevent movement / friction inside the boots, which can cause blisters.

Bottom Line

Columbia Winter Boots will keep your feet warm, dry and protected in cold conditions. Columbia's most extreme cold boots are a bit clunky for those who need precision foot movement.
