Perks
With 10 two-piece models and 18 four-piece models, the RS4 has a wide range of options for fly-fishing anglers to choose from. Alignment dots on the rods assure the rods are fitted properly for maximum performance. AAA-rated cork handles provide all-day comfort when casting.
Sacrifices
While the rod blanks and handles are great, the rod guides are low-end aluminum oxide models. Better rod guides would be preferred to reduce friction on long casts. The reel seats need to tighten without so much effort.
Bottom Line
With so many models in the RS4 lineup, there is a rod for any fly-fishing application. The single-hand rods are a great value with prices under $200, and the line of spey rods perform as well as the higher-priced competition.
