Perks
Horizon II rods are built with Thomas and Thomas' exclusive Bi-Angular Fiber Technology that combines light weight with quick responsiveness. The 3- to 6-weight models come with a Western-style cork grip and a bubinga wood reel seat. Seven weight and higher models come with a full wells cork grip and an anodized aluminum reel seat.
Sacrifices
While these are high-performance fly rods, they do come with a high price tag. Make sure to cast these fast-action rods at a dealer before buying one, as these rods are not designed for beginning fly casters.
Bottom Line
For serious fly fishing anglers that yearn for fast-action rods that produce long, smooth casts, the Horizon II is the right tool for the job.
