This four-person Texsport Inwood Square Dome tent measures 7 feet by 9 feet, with a 72 inch interior height. Its trail weight is approximately 9 pounds. The rain fly is peaked for maximum rain coverage. The floor is polyethylene, making it rip stop and waterproof, so a tarp or footprint is not necessary. Half of the exterior is waterproofed with polyurethane, the rest of the tent is covered by the rain fly. The exterior under the fly coverage is open mesh.
Perks
The 6 feet of interior height are a great benefit. The tent's waterproofing is adequate, and the rain fly's off-the-tent design makes for surprisingly good breathability. The standard dome design is easy to set up and take down. While this is not as light as many more expensive models, it can be reasonably shared between three campers, even for backcountry camping.
Sacrifices
The tent is roomy for three people, but very snug for the advertised four. With children, four individuals can be house comfortably, but four fully-grown men will not have enough space to share, especially with equipment. While this tent is listed as a three-season tent, it will not hold up to heavy fall weather and the fly is vulnerable to high winds.
Bottom Line
If you're looking for a summer tent on a budget for car camping or even backcountry camping, this is a reasonable choice. The tents rain fly design offers excellent breathability, but makes the tent vulnerable to harsh weather.
