REI Windbrake Thermal Fleece Jacket - Women's

Count on the REI Windbrake Thermal jacket to provide shiver-free descents. This is our most windproof fleece, which makes it a great piece to have on hand for late-autumn in the backcountry. Breathable, non-bulky, heavyweight polyester fleece jacket has a highly abrasion-resistant face, a wind-resistant laminate and a gridded fleece backing; blocks wind to 50 mph. REI Windbrake Thermal insulates even when damp, dries fast and has a Durable Water Repellent finish to shed moisture. Windflap behind front zipper, drawcord hem and abrasion-resistant, adjustable cuffs enhance weather protection. Zip hand pockets and 2 mesh interior drop-in pockets. Active fit provides for a full range of motion; flat non-chafing seams and articulated sleeves let you move comfortably and layer easily.

Great jacket

I am so happy to have found a windproof fleece jacket. I'd had a Gore WindStopper fleece for years, and lost it. I'd almost despaired of finding a replacement. Polartec WindPro just doesn't do the same job, and The North Face Windwall fits me strangely. Soft shells just don't have the same level of comfort.Finally, I found this REI fleece. It does a great job as a windbreaker. I've worn it comfortably in temperatures from about 35F-65F. It's no raincoat, of course, but it'll repel water in a light drizzle, and dries quickly. The cut is nice (fit is true to size -- I'm 5'7", 130 lbs, and medium is perfect). I love the "raddichio" color.My only complaint is the velcro sleeve closures: they are a bit stiff and bulky if you cinch them in. But that's a pretty minor flaw in my eyes.
