Superior Performance!!!!
I bought these anchors to anchor down a instant conopy at South Padre Island this past week. I was not a believer of these anchors till I had a first hand experience with very gusty winds out of the ordinary due to a storm in the gulf of mexico. Long story short the guylines on the tent snapped (2 of them) and sand anchors stood their gound. Guylines from tent were still attached to sand anchors and could not believe what I was seeing. These anchors are so worth. Please invest in these of your planning on going to the beach. Totally awesome.

Effective, but not foolproof
These work. I used 6 to stake out a Noah's Tarp 16 (that's huge, BTW) on loose sand, with some easy wind, and nothing budged. They were buried almost to the black ring but i didn't bother to pack the sand down. So concept is good. If you need more holding power, you can always add a second pocket to the same line, add a line, or just pile sand on top. They are so small and light, no big deal to get a few extra. The product image shows cord from both sides of the "pocket" being attached to the black ring -- mine had only one side attached when i got them. It wasn't an obstacle for me, but i could see someone less experienced being pretty confused. Some kind of diagrams showing how the cord is meant to be connecte

Work Great
We used these in an 9 day Everglades kayak trip, camping on shell islands and beaches 3 nights. It took some experimenting, but putting them in at about a 45 degree angle and 12 inches deep (just so the black right is out) works best. They held perfectly in a 35 knot wind in a very exposed site. The bonus is that they're extremely light and take up no room at all.

Fear not to camp in the sand!
Used these babies to go camping on the Oceano SRVA near Pismo Beach, California. My last experience camping there suggested I need something better to secure tent in the sand and wind. If you have never been there, it is just
