REI Salix Insulated Jacket - Boys'

I purchased this jacket for my 13 year old son who was traveling to Australia in Mid June through July 4th. Since it is winter there at this time, this was the perfect jacket for his needs. They landed in Sydney to some cold, windy, and rainy weather...the jacket kept him warm and dry. He used it in Canberra also, while repelling in the Blue Mountains. The weather was even colder there, and again the jacket kept him warm. Because the jacket is not bulky, he was able to move easily while hiking in the Blue Mountains. He found the jacket to be comfortable and the different pockets located throughout the jacket made it easy and safe for him to carry some spare money. We do not have anything negative to say about this jacket. It held up very well.

I have purchased these jackets three years in a row now. My boys love them. They are super light weight, but keep the boys warm. The hood fits close to keep the wind and rain out and the velcro at the sleeves is perfect for my little guy (5 yr).I will say, previous years seemed fuller, so we will see how this year's version compares.
