Not an MTS replacement
This is an excellent shirt, but know what you are buying. I went seeking an MTS Midweight shirt (remember those?). This is NOT that shirt. The Sahara is much thinner. I live in Phoenix so will get a lot of use from the very lightweight material, but others in cooler climates might find the shirt too thin. The shoulders and underarms are cut very tight. For me (I am 5'8 and 140 lbs) the medium fits, but snugly. I can see larger customers feeling it is too restrictive. The fabric is similar in feel to a very thin polyester teeshirt. The collar and cuffs are not very strechy and I cannot pull the sleeves up on my arms as they are too tight (and I've got pretty skinny arms). It did not shrink when washed. Overall I miss the older MTS shirts, which were warmer, more strechy, had a softer hand, didn't fray or pill, and were basically indestructible. This is NOT an MTS Midweight shirt. :-( Additionally, sent in a review on the REI OXT shirts (was looking for the MTS shirts and reviewed several REI shirts in the process). OXT is also very much not an MTS replacement, see the review on that product, it is a totally different shirt. Bring back the MTS Midweight!
