Last Years model....Great Deal

I grabbed this for a 14er climb We encountered gusty winds, rain, and freezing rain 3/4 from the top and again on the way back down This jacket was great. With only a long sleeved running shirt underneath, it did a fantastic job cutting the wind, rain, and freezing rain. I couldn't have been happier. The armpit zippers are the feature I like the most. The fabric collar is a nice comfortable touch.

Everything I wanted

I didn't even realize there were vent zippers under the underarms. Used this through two scout camps with my kids. Pretty easy to stow, very comfortable to wear. Thought it was a bit pricy, but I'm happy I bought it.

Great jacket

Jacket keeps you dry. It stores up inside its own pocket which is great for traveling. The jacket keeps you decently warm in cloudy, overcast weather. Though I would say it is ideally designed to keep you dry and the wind off your body.

I would recommend it

Can't quite tell if it is in fact entirely waterproof because it tends to get war

Great Jacket for the Money

Great jacket, gets the job done, and would be a very comfortable and suitable companion on a backpacking trip to cut wind chill and against spring / summer rain. Great for commuting to work in as well.

Light, packs well

I'd love to add that the jacket is durable, but only time can tell. I've had too many past rainwear products seem wonderful for the first few months, only to completely lose their protection after a year or so. Check back with me in a year.

Excellent product

Used the jacket to hike in the Anazasi Ruins of Utah. Breathes very well, no issues. You must buy special soap to wash it in to retain waterproof.

Great product!

Perfect for rainy weather.

Good for the price

For the money, from what I can tell, it's a solid rain jacket. It's a much better improvement from the Columbia Field Gear jacket I had. I still find that in a heavy rain, the inside gets quite damp and wet, but I think the underarm zipper-vents do help quite a bit with this. Also, I bought the black and it is very stylish in the sense that you can wear it in urban settings and not look like a tourist!

Good jacket substitute.

Zippers, including the longest zipper in the front of the jacket, catch on the adjacent material. If you put bulky items like a case for your glasses in the deep inner pockets at the bottom of the jacket, this interferes with your hands when you try to put them in the outer pockets. Two deep inner breast pockets with zippers would have been preferable. It says it is breathable but the inner layer of the jacket gets really wet when I ride my bike, even with the armpit zippers wide open, although it drys very fast when the jacket comes off.Very stylish and mine is a beautiful bright red color.I use this shell mainly for bike riding and as a substitute for a jacket. I also intend to use it and a fleece layer as part of my backpacking gear when I go to areas that get into the low 30s at night. I bo

Walking and Vespa

I bought the coat for year round walks in the early morning and riding my scooter to work. It works equally well for both and tucks easily out of the way when not in use. Nice coat, not hard to wear with dress pants for a walk to the local bar.

Solid rain jacket

The jacket definitely keeps you dry, but it doesn't breathe too well, so if it is a warm rain...I am a lanky 6'1" and the medium fits me well. I like a slimmer fit, but the sleeve length is fine. All in all a great, light weight rain jacket, just not a great summer option in most places.

Pleasantly surprised

I was looking for a lighter alternative to my bulky 20-yr old North Face rain shell. Got a good deal on the Rainwall, and it came in handy a few weeks later when we spent a cold, wet week camping in Yosemite. As advertised, the jacket kept the water out and helped a lot in keeping me warm. The pleasant surprise was how comfortable it was and how well it looked. I was initially put off by the jacket's non-supple feel (I guess the gore-tex inside is doomed to be stiff and crinkly), but the more I wore it, the more supple it became. By the end of the week, it was my outerwear of choice, even when it wasn't raining. My only complaint was the hood was too large. I think it was sized for someone wearing a helmet. When I donned the hood and then turned my head sideways, I ended up looking at the insi
