Chinese-made, bring back the old one
It's not made to last. The previous hat REI carried in this style was absolutely fantastic in every way: durable, stylish, rich color (real oilcloth), and much more sturdy, holding its shape. This hat feels cheap and flimsy by comparison.

Good, reliable hat
I took this hat with me on a two month trip to China, and it was amazing. The hat stayed with me from the city to the Great Wall, and everywhere in between. It stayed on my head even in windy conditions, it keep me cool while in the blazing hot sun, and it lasted without wear throughout the entire trip. This is one durable hat!The only two cons are that the glue holding the leather head band came loose (but that's okay: it stays in place even without the glue) and heavy sweating will make a small stain on the forehead hat brim (but that always washed away by itself on the next rain).
