Sleek, versatile, in town, on the water
These pants are awesome - lightweight, versatile, quick drying. I live in them outside of work. They quickly convert from well-fitting pants to capris with cute shirring. Living coastal, this feature is a must. The only improvement is to offer a sister product that has large cargo side pockets. I wouldn't change these because they'd lose their sleekness. I am asking that another version with usefully-sized side cargo pockets (not the wimpy ladies cargo pockets) be marketed.

great for hiking or traveling
The pants seemed well made and were water repellant. They were comfortable to wear while walking for hours. I like the pockets, especially the small zippered pocket, and the adjustable length. Without adjusting the length, they are a little long for a 5'4" person wearing flats.

Great Pant but...
Great pant EXCEPT zippers on bottoms of pant legs. They are totally unnecessary for vigorous activities and ruin the

Light and comfortable
These are comfortable and fit very well - nice straight leg and room for an "athletic" calf and thigh. The legs can be ruched on the side to just below the knee and tied to stay in a sort of capri length. They stay up pretty well, but it can be weird to have the ties swinging along the side of the leg while walking. The fabric is

LOVE
Waist not too high, not too low. Loved them so much that I bought a pair for my mom for her birthday after she saw mine. She loves hers too.

Great pants for work, travel, hiking
I'm a landscape architect who travels a lot and I was looking for pants that could work on the plane, with clients, and in the field. These fit the bill, and I wear them for hiking and camping too. They are so comfy and stretchy but look professional too. My local REI did not have the slate color; if they were available in a khaki or blue I would get another pair. The black can be hot in the sun. I am 5'-5" and 120 lbs and the size 2 fits pretty well. A little loose in the waist at times but the drawstring helps; I cinch them slightly at the cuffs to fit with flat shoes; full length is ok with taller shoes/hiking boots. They don't look good as capris as they flare out strangely at the cuffs. I think they would be too lightweight in the winter (maybe ok with long underwear) but they are the perfect summer outdoor pant. Truly quick-dry and wrinkles disappear within

Great pants, but not sure how durable
I wear these pants hiking in warmer weather (probably not good for cold weather as they're quite lightweight and thin), walking around town, and even to my office for work! They're very comfortable and have a nice fit. I'm 5'9 165 and got the size 8. They are the perfect length for flat shoes or hiking boots, depending on the setting in which you're wearing them. They are also quick drying. Being able to convert them to capris is nice when it's hot, but they don't look as good on me that way, so I just roll them up. My only complaint is that after a few washings, they're starting to get some little fuzzies -- I don't know how durable they will be in the long run. Otherwise, great pants!

Would definitely recommend
Bought these pants for a hiking trip in Italy - they did exactly what I wanted: Look nice when shopping in town, work well on the trail. The gray color hides dirt well. The pockets are perfect - including the security pocket, which holds a hotel room key, credit card, cash, etc. Haven't washed them in a machine ye

Sent them back.
I purchased these after having had the Prana Halla pants. They were just too different. The material felt slimy. The fit was strange too. I know this isn't a very good description but they just weren't right for me. They kinda reminded me of a Prana knock-off.

Great for non-hippy people!
Bought these pants for trekking Annapurna in Nepal in May. After trying many pairs of pants on, I selected these as they were pretty much the only pants made for people

Great pants!
Yeah!! REI realizes that not all women want pants that sit waaaay below the waist. This one is reasonable, though could even be a bit higher. I really like the hidden security pocket. The adjustable ties at the waist take some getting used to and that design could be improved.I hope you'll make these in another fabric. I'd buy 'em!!

So cute!
I bought these in black for an upcoming trip to Europe. My mom made me try them on and I'm glad she did-- they look aweful on the hanger, but really cute on! The adjustable length is great and looks even better if the hem is flipped up & the strings are tied into bows on the capri length. I'm only 5'2" and usually wear pant size 6-8; on these the 6 fits nicely. The waistband doesn't gap in the back and the leg is neither too narrow nor too wide. I'm very excited to have found comfortable, convertible pants that can be dressed up or down so easily!
