The REI Mistral soft-shell jacket is made for performance! With a water- and wind-resistant durable face fabric, the Mistral provides comfort as you move. Rugged nylon/spandex outer face is backed by a brushed-knit lining that retains warmth; this breathable stretch fabric lets you push the pace without overheating. Fabric blocks wind to 40 mph. Ultrasonic shoulder seams won't chafe under pack straps. Inner storm guard backs front zipper; 1-hand adjustable hem drawcord seals out the weather. Articulated elbows ease movement. Handwarmer pockets feature zipper garages that deflect raindrops; welded sleeve pocket has a headphone port. Features 2 interior mesh drop-in pockets.

Best jacket ever

I wear this jacket all the time and when I need just a little more I put a vest on under it, or over it. It is the best jacket I have ever had. I had the old Mistral jacket for many years and it was stolen recently. So I waited until it came out again and got another. It truly is the most versatile garment I have. The sleeves are too long but I fixed that. I'm short. It's just the best jacket you can purchase. S.B.
