Tough enough for a day of climbing and stylish enough for a journey around town, the REI Landrum shorts can be worn on all your warm-weather outings. Midweight nylon/spandex fabric blend wicks moisture off your skin and dries fast. With a UPF 50+ rating, fabric provides excellent protection against harmful ultraviolet rays. Center gusset, 2-way-stretch fabric and articulated legs allow good range of motion. 14 in. inseam covers the knees for protection while climbing. Front hand pockets, zippered rear pockets and a drop-in cell phone pocket on the right thigh stow everything you need for short journeys. REI Landrum shorts have a classic fit that is cut just right for easy wearing.

The longer length of the short is a plus

There seems to be inconsistency in waist sizing for REI brand pants/shorts - Most often a 32, but for these shorts, they are one off on the size, and had to return and re-order a size larger (34) Other than that, I like the longer length of these shorts - they hit just above the knee. I have thin legs, and most hiking shorts are mid-thigh and too large of a leg opening. These allow for freedom of movement, but good coverage.
