Polyester and spandex fabric offers lightweight insulation, and 4-way stretch lets you move freely. Fabric provides UPF 50+ sun protection, shielding skin from harmful ultraviolet rays. Ergonomic seams reduce chafing and enhance mobility. Internal pocket stores a key, and an elastic drawcord waist secures the fit. REI Airflyte Basic tights offer a next-to-body, performance fit.

Works exactly as expected

I bought two pairs and will buy a third before the sale ends. These are the first tights I ever owned, after several years of running, and I wish I had bought them earlier. They keep my legs warm, but not overly so. I have so far tested them only by themselves in temps around 40 degrees fahrenheit, but I presume they would work well as a base layer in colder weather. They have worked for me in rain and dry weather.One sizing note: I wear 32 length jeans and the legs on these tights leave about 1/2 inch of my ankle exposed when I wear extra-low socks.
