I am a woman and I chose these because the footbed was wider, and since I broke my little toe I needed it for protection. These are very comfortable and very stable. I'm not wild about the can openers on the bottom at all but the comfort outweighed the negative feature for me. I see the can openers as dirt pockets and security stalls. I will never use the can openers.I did try on every brand of flips flops available and this pair worked out and feels as though they will last the longest.
