Description

Primus Polaris XL Lantern

The Primus Polaris™ XL lantern illuminates the night with natural-looking light to keep your group of campers happy long after the sun goes down. High-powered Seoul P4 white LED illuminates the campsite with 160 lumens on high and 12 lumens on low; 5-position switch lets you choose the amount of light. Reflector design provides 360° of light with no dead spots. Nonslip rubberized housing provides a sure grip while transporting the lantern. Sturdy aluminum clip allows the lantern to be hung inside a tent or from a tree branch. Primus Polaris™ XL lantern operates on 3 D batteries, sold separately; batteries provide up to 48 hrs. of runtime on high.

Solid Car Camping Option

I bought this lantern two years ago and use it regularly camping in the north Georgia mountains with the kids. Now I am buying it again as a gift. That should say it all. The frosted plexi allows this lantern to lite the campsite softly without changing the environment. It is easily adjustable and has a durable case. It is too big and heavy for backpacking but that's not what it's made for. The top handle has a hinge to hang it on a line or a loop and we've camped for 10 days at a time without a battery change. It doesn't have the high design of black diamond but it is well designed and a good performer. Not cheap but well worth the money.
