perfect for savage elements
This beanie is amazing and should not be used just for cloudy days. This is definitely a winter season beanie. It is a wool-like fabric on the outside, with a super warm, wind-stopper fleece liner. It fits pretty snug, but I like that. After a few days of adventuring, it will loosen up a bit. I have worn this while backpacking, and in very cold temps. Just recently, I wore it while snow camping at -8* in the Sierras. I wore it during the day and even in my sleeping bag, and it never "walked" off my head like other beanies have. It breathes, and doesn't hold onto that "unwashed hair/backpacking smell" like other fabrics do. The not so great-But shouldn't stop anyone from buying this beanie- the color. I'm not very fond of the color and pattern, even though it is signature to Patagonia. People that hike with me say it's a plus, because they can pick me out from the brush or other people further up on the trail. The other downer, though not really a big deal, the back of the hat has a seam. And for most uses, this is no big deal. After wearing it for 3-4 days straight, the seam and the patagonia patch can be the teeniest bit annoying against your skin.
