Great Kayak Light
I've had this light for several years, using it for night paddles in the Seattle area. Reliable, bright, waterproof, and good battery life. However, I've just returned from a two month paddle up the inside passage, and I'm even more impressed. I kept this light clipped on my back deck, exposed the entire time, and it still works like a champ. Other supposedly waterproof gear eventually failed, but this light is still going strong. Fantastic!

Not for textured boats
I love this so much that I have two, however it only attaches to smooth hulls, so if you don't have a completely smooth hull (like my neighbors, whose kayaks we often borrow), you have to find some other way to attach it. The connector hook is great, so if the suction does fail, you don't lose the light.It is definitely visible at night from far off, as we've tested it, and its so bright I keep it behind me so I can have some level of night vision. I keep these in the trunk of my car and use them as emergency lights. I'
